Scott Milner sings and improvises instrumentally on standards with a personal feel that comes out of life experience. “For me the jazz songbook resembles art song, carrying in the lyrics and form the same emotional nuances and force, while tapping deeply into blues and folk. Improv is never far removed from the lyric in my mind.”
Milner performed for several years in the Missoula area with the combo, Triple Sec, and sings legit with Palouse Choral Society Chamber Choir. He started Jaz Palouse last fall, recruiting some of the finest improvising musicians available to form a “Scott and Friends” approach.
The present lineup includes local favorites: pianist Jon Anderson and drummer Joe Covill, both highly experienced jazz men. We also feature guest singer April Rubino and percussionist Moss Campion.
